We are conducting a walking tour in Thurles on Sat. next, 25th Jan. at 2.00 PM. This tour will look at events in Thurles during 1919/1920 which resulted in the deaths of 2 RIC policemen and an IRA volunteer and also saw rampant destruction of property in the town, which became known as The Sack of Thurles. This event is open to everyone and is free of charge. A commemorative booklet will be available on the day.
